Thank you for your fast reply. Unfortunately, I don't have an emulator for debugging with CCS. I've installed CCSv6 and I could generate a .out file of helloworld example program for C66x. How can I copy this file to Linux file system in target and run it from there? or instead of CCS, should I use C6x code generation tools? What is the use of debug USB(micro USB port) in DRA7xx, is it an onboard emulator? I would also like to know about 'MessageQ'.

#Q: Should I use C6x code generation tools?

- Heterogeneous multicore devices, like DRA7XX, often configure their individual cores into master/slave relationships. The master (e.g. DRA7XX's A15) often runs an HLOS like Linux, which manages slaves (e.g. DRA7XX's DSPs and IPUs) that run an RTOS like SYS/BIOS. The bootloader (e.g. u-boot) for the typical master/slave system loads/boots the HLOS, and once the HLOS has enabled enough infrastructure (e.g. file systems, device driver backplanes, etc), the HLOS loads/boots the slave devices.

#Q: What is the use of debug USB(micro USB port) in DRA7xx, is it an onboard emulator?

- The CPU Board can be used standalone for software debug and development. The debug USB on DRA7xx board is used for debug purposes. That means if you connect your host machine to this connector you will have debug console. By this way you have command display on the board.

The MessageQ module supports the structured sending and receiving of variable length messages. It is OS independent and works with any threading model. For each MessageQ you create, there is a single reader and may be multiple writers.

MessageQ is the recommended messaging API for most applications. It can be used for both homogeneous and heterogeneous multi-processor messaging, along with single-processor messaging between threads.

Thanks again. I was wondering how can I add my own application to GLSDK? Right now what I'm doing is, use yocto setup for building Linux file system and depended libraries for my application. Then I use the Linaro cross compiler tool to compile my application source code and generate ARM binaries. Then I copy those binaries to SD card and run. Is there any alternate method to do this? I thought the purpose of GLSDK is done after building the yocto-filesystem and libraries. Could you please give me some clarification regarding this since I'm new to this software development? I also read in some other post about installing GLSDK  in the board itself. Is it possible?

Actually, I've been using these guides only. But, I couldn't find much details regarding 'how to build my own application'. Anyway, thank you for your help.
