Jacinto 6 EVM WiFi issue

Dear Champs,

We have connected the module to one of our GP boards and tried to pair it with Nexus 4. We have noticed that the pairing process is very inconsistent. Once the pairing fails, it continues to fail with error – “Could not pair with error because of incorrect PIN or Passkey” (see attachment).

We have tried pairing with Samsung as well as Xperia but the problem is observed in all cases.

We are using following:-

1)TI jacinto6 EVM CPU revision G3

2)TI Android 4.4 prebuilt image from
http://omappedia.org/wiki/6AK.1.2_Release_Notes -Using the Prebuilt Release Image

Please let us know how to fix this issue

Hi Feroz,
I didn't see the attachment. Also what kind of pairing are you referring to?
Is it wifi direct, or you use the phones as an tethering access points?
The error you mention is more of a bluetooth connectivity issue.

Hi Boyko,

You are absolutely right. There was some ambiguity in the customers message. It is actually BT that he has issues with on Android.

It seems its indicating an incorrect PIN error!

The DIP switch setting is as per - omappedia.org/.../6AK.1.2_Release_Notes - Flashing guide

Any precedence of such instability on this COM8 module with release binaries of 6AK.1.2? Any clues on this please?

A logcat and kernel log attachment may bring some light on the issue. how pairing is done ( full sequence description may provide some hint if something is done wrong) ? which device provides the pin first?

Hi Boyko,

I have tried to initiate pairing from PHONE to jacinto6 EVM and vise-versa. I have also tried to provide pin first from PHONE then Jacinto6 board and vise-versa.

Please find logcat and kernel dmesg in attachment.

Please not issue with BLUETOOTH paring not wifi.

I checked the logs and didn't stumble upon something odd. This may be some bug in the android OS , perhaps it is a good idea to write in the android forum as well. Is it possible to see if the bug persists with the old version as well (6ak1.1)
