Josh Arenson thanks for the input. Yes the command I have given is right and it is the typo error in while posting. I root caused the issue and it is due to copy from Windows to Ubuntu PC without any care. I have downloaded the source on Windows PC using GIT Bash and copied to Ubuntu PC using WinSCP...

Hello John, The support for Angstrom on Pandaboard has been flaky. However, as you mentioned that you are open to having a slim linux OS running on the PandaBoard -- you are still at luck :) From Ubuntu 11.10 onwards there is a flavor of Ubuntu called Ubuntu Core (more at : http://www.canonical...

Harvey, While updating SDCard to Angstrom did you changed the boot partition as well? Just try updating rootfs only. At least your kernel should come up as it is not dependent on the Ubuntu or Angstrom. You can use the sam eMLO, u-boot, uInitrd and uImage same as Ubuntu. Please double check the boot...

Hi, This is as if you did not have the second (ext3 rootfs) partition on your SD card. Could you try this Ubuntu image? http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/11.10/release/ubuntu-11.10-preinstalled-desktop-armel+omap4.img.gz This is known to work on PandaBoard 4430. Best regards, V.
