HI,

MY PROBLEM IS MAINLY ABOUT THE REQUIREMENT OF A SUITTABLE DRIVER FOR A PIN DIODE SWITCH.

THE SWITCH IS TGS4302 FROM TRIQUINT WHERE THE ANODE IS GROUNDED. THE PIN DIODE IS SUPPOSED TO COLD SWITCH 2WATTS OF POWER (INDEED THE P1 POINT OF THE PIN DIODE SWITCH). DURING OPERATION THE SWITCH REQUIRES 25V FOR THE AFOREMENTIONED POWER REQUIREMENT. FOR CLOSING SWITCH -5V IS REQUIRED. BESIDES THE SWITCHING TIMES SHOULD BE LOWER THAN 100NS.

I HAVE SEARCHED THROUGH INTERNET AND SEVERAL CATAOGUES FOR THE DRIVER REQUIREMENT BUT I CANNOT REACH A SUITTABLE SOLUTION. I HAVE IMPLEMENTED A SWITCH DRIVER CIRCUIT THAT I HAVE COME UP WITH DURING SEARCH. ITS PERFORMANCE WAS SATISFACTORY (IN FACT I HAVE TESTED IT WITH A PN DIODE, NOT THE SWITCH BUT A LITTLE TWEAKING ON THE CIRCUIT VALUES CAN BRING A SATISFACTORYSOLUTION WITH THE PIN DIODE SWITCH) BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE A BULKY ONE.

I HAVE SEEN DH0035 DURING INTERNET SEARCH BUT I CANNOT FIND IT IN THE PRODUCT LISTS, BUT THE APPLICATION NOTE AND I AM CONFUSED A BIT ABOUT THAT. NEVERTHELESS, IT MAY HAVE BECOME OBSOLETE.

CAN YOU DEVISE ME WITH AN ELEGANT SOLUTION (AN OFF-THE-SHELF PRODUCT OR PRODUCTS) FOR PIN DIODE DRIVER.

BEST REGARDS

    Taylan;

    PIN diode RF switches usually need a reverse bias to turn them "off: and a current to turn them "on". Do you need only two bipolar voltages?
