LM4041 marking

I bought a lot of LM4041BIM3-1.2 in 2010 in SOT23 package. I observed the die marking, and I saw the following information :

I bought a new lot of the same reference one month ago, with the following marking in the bottom of the SOT23 package : 3B4. Does anyone know the meaning of these 3 characters ? I observed the die again and the marking was almost the same : the only difference concerns the 4 characters in the bottom right of the die (0E800 for the oldest die, 0F803 for the newest one). Does this marking correspond to a mask version, or does it indicate only a diffusion lot, a plant location, a wafer size ?

Thank you for your help.

  • Nicolas,

Any and all Part Authentication requests, part markings, and die verification should follow the anti-counterfeit process:

In order for TI to begin the verification process all of the following information is required.  Please provide the required information to ti-counterfeit@list.ti.com for devices purchased through to TI or an authorized TI distributor.

    Required information

    1)      Completed Counterfeit Request Form.

    2)      High quality pictures of the bottom & top of the device(s)

    3)      High quality pictures of the 2D bar code labels.

    4)      Copies/pictures of shipping documents, i.e. packing slip showing the origin of the devices to TI or an authorized TI distributor.  (If this information cannot be provided we are unable to provide verification due to uncertainties regarding chain of custody of the products.)

    5)      Provide device application.

Once the required information is provided and submitted, your request will be reviewed for verification.

TI strongly encourages you to purchase all your TI parts either directly from TI or from authorized TI distributors (http://focus.ti.com/docs/general/distribcountryresults.jhtml) and not from the gray market or brokers.
