XTR110 transistor protection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XTR110

Hi,

I just want to make clear one thing. In the datasheet is written that if the BVgs of the transistor is lower than Vcc I can use zener diode to protect the transistor.

I'm planning to use it as current source for loop testing.

The load can be sometimes disconnected during the operation so the opamp can try to pull the gate to GND and it would exceed the 20V gate source voltage. If I connect the zener diode like in the schematics, will it protect the P-FET and will not damage the XTR110 itself? Is it safe?

I suppose pot for adjusting is OK.

Thank you
