Part Number: DRV8662EVM
Hope you're well. I have two questions about the DRV8662EVM. The first is about changing the waveform frequency. I know that the MSP430 can be reprogrammed to change the waveform, but is there a simpler way to change the frequency? Or do we have to use the full set (Code Composer Studio + JTAG + MSP-FET) connections to alter the frequency?
The second question is about controlling EVM modes. Is there some way we can define the default EVM mode without the pushbutton? For instance, when the EVM is turned on, it is directly set to Mode 6: External Analog/PWM Input.

Hi Kate, The DRV8662EVM is limited in its capabilities for evaluation. We typically suggest using the DRV2667EVM-CT for evaluation. The DRV2667 contains the DRV8662 and a digital chip with a DAC and RAM memory. So the performance possible with the DRV2667 is also possible with the DRV8662 , but it is much easier to make waveforms for evaluation using our Haptic Control Console program with the DRV2667. To achieve either of your questions, you will have to edit the code using CCS and the JTAG connector.

Thank you for your reply. We also purchased the DRV2667EVM-CT, so we will definitely try that one out for our evaluation.
Just to confirm, does editing the code not require the MSP-FET? Also, similar to my previous question about the DRV8662EVM, can the default mode be changed through the same method for the DRV2667EVM-CT?

MSP-FET is used to program the DRV2667 on-board MCU.
the default mode can be changed with the help of Code Composer Studio and MSP-FET.
