Hi there,

I have a question about the configuration of DRV2605L, if we use DRV2605L on ERM motor in open loop mode, do we still need to set any parameters for the specific motor we use besides the rated voltage?

Also, do we need to do auto-configuration for the driver if it's going to work in open loop mode?

    Hi Shiping,

    In open-loop mode you just need to set the OD_Clamp voltage and the OL_LRA_Period register to the correct frequency. The rated voltage is ignored in open-loop.
    No auto-calibration is needed.

    Note: With DRV2625, you can use auto-braking at the end of open-loop mode to improve the braking fall time. This is register 0x08 [AUTO_BRK_OL].
