Small solution LRA haptic solution

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2605L, DRV2625

Hi,

Now the customer is looking for the small solution to add vibration function to their system. I think that the LRA and driver may can achieve smaller solution so can you give your opinion?

Please let me know the recommended LRA driver. I believe that DRV2605L is latest and competitive part.

Do you know the example of small LRA part? I already check following thread and know the LRA vendors, so I'd like to know the latest small part.

Best Regards,

Satoshi

  • Hello,

The latest LRA driver is the DRV2625, which has a lower stand-by and shutdown current and is smaller. It also has an optional interrupt pin, closed loop control algorithms and diagnostics. Both the DRV2605L and DRV2625 have integrated haptic libraries.

There are many different actuators to choose from depending on the size, cost, and desired performance, so there isn't one actuator that is universally better than others. Is there a specific size you had in mind?

  • Satoshi,

Please reach out to the LRA vendors on our website to ask about small LRAs. TI only supplies the electronics and the actuator companies provide the LRAs.

As Micah mentioned, the DRV2625/24 drivers are the smallest driver on the market. They only require 2 bypass capacitors making for a very small solution.
