Dear all,

I would like to use LD4-001D1 actuator made by NIDEC.

・High speed response： 4.3ms(0 to 0.2G)
・Low resonant frequency： 150Hz

Could DRV2605 drive this actuator?

Hi Takao,

Please check with Nidec on the status of this motor. I believe they have a newer version of this motor that will replace the LD4. If the BEMF voltage is too large, then the DRV2605 may not be able to drive the motor in closed-loop. We can definitely drive the motor in open-loop mode. I have samples of the newer replacement motor, but I have not had a chance to test the performance yet.
I may have a sample of the LD4 as well, but I need to check. I will return from travel 10/17 and I can check then.

I have understood this device can drive in open-loop mode at least.

Hey Takao,

You can drive the LD4 with the DRV2605. I just tested it with the DRV2605EVM-CT and it functions properly.
