Hello Mariusz,
I am currently working on a re-configurable Ultrasonic Hardware Platform. it would be great if you could share the application used to calculate delays. Here is my e-mail: vvasude2@hawk.iit.edu
Thank you.

I am working with LM96570 for portable ultra sound system design.By reading the data sheet i got the idea about how to program the delay values and dalay patterns. But I am unable get the what delay values and what delay patterns to be programmed. Please give me idea about the calculation of delay values.
In datasheet default delay values and delay patterns are mentioned,Are they produce beem steering or else what is the purpose of those default values.
Thank you.
Hi,
The delays at T/R is used for steering and focusing the acoustic beam. This delays depend on mechanical dimensions of a single piezotransducer, number of transducers involved in acoustic wave excitation, shape of a probe (linear array, curved array), required direction and focal point of the ultrasound wave. Generaly, it is required that the signal acoustic signal traveling from every single transducer should arrive at the same time to the desired point. Some time ago I have developed a simple software for calculating the delays and visualizing the acoustic beam. You can download it from here:
http://www20.zippyshare.com/v/85159749/file.html
Just UNRAR this two files (using WINRAR - http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm) into any folder and run DELAY.EXE
Good Luck!!
Hi,Thank you for favorable reply.
But the link for software http://www20.zippyshare.com/v/85159749/file.html,which you suggested is i am unable get. I am facing this problem like "The requested URL could not be retrieved"
Thank you.
Hi Chandu,
I've checked the link today and it works fine. Anyway, give me your email and I'll send it to you.

Hi Chandu,
I have sent the files to you. If any questions, ask here.

Hi,
sorry for asking again sir,
the mail you sent have no files attached to it.you said it is a software so if possible can you share in my google drive.
my email id is ee12m1014@iith.ac.in.
Thank you.
Hi,
Sir,I am using app which you suggested for delay calculations. Can you provide the documentation of that app ,which can give details about formulae used.
And even i changed the direction the delay values are not changing,my doubt is the delay values are constant for all directions for constant depth, frequency .
Thank you sir.
Hi Chandu,
For convex transducer the directional steering is not implemented in the software. It only works with linear probe.Change the Radio Button into LINEAR in "Probe selection" groupbox. The delays are calculated using the rule that the acoustic wave from every element should arrive at the same time to the desired focal point.
I dont't have the documentation for this application because I've wrote it for my own only use.

Mariusz
Hi Shiwei,
No problem, I will send you the software within a few minutes. Anyway, you can use it free also for commercial purposes. I'll be glad if it could be somehow helpfull.

Mariusz
Hi Mariusz,
Would you please send me(tu.praveen@gmail.com) a copy of your app for calculating beamforming delays? we are working on a ultrasound imaging project.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Mariusz,
Thanks for your reply. But I didn't receive the mail you have sent. Can you please send it once more? My E-mail ID is (tu.praveen@gmail.com, tu.praveen@hotmail.com ). Thanks again for your support.

Hi Praveen,
I've sent the files again to you. If you still haven't got it, check the SPAM tab on your mailbox.

Mariusz
Hi Mariusz,
Thanks for your cooperation mariusz. However I am having trouble downloading the attachment from Hotmail(It prevents me from downloading attachments with extension *.exe). Can you please send it in .zip format :-) ?. Again my email IDs are(tu.praveen@hotmail.com, praveentu_lucky39@yahoo.com ). :-)
Hello Praveen,
In the attach PDF I try to show a possible solution for a clock distributions from crystal source through TI LMK03000 and LMK01010 Timing products to the LM96570 and FPGA , plus synchronization Reset implementation .
Hai Mariusz,
i have gone through the applicaction software for delay calculation meant for a linear array probe.curently,i am doing an ultrasound project using a curvillinear probe. it would be really appreciated if u can help me in calculating the delay values for a curvilinear probe.
regards,prasad
Hello Prasad,
I understand you use the software I have developed. If yes, then all you need is to click the relevant RadioButton on "Probe selection" Group Box. There are two possible selections: Linear and Convex. Convex means curvilinear.
Best Regards,
Mariusz
Hello Mariusz,
thanks .it would be highly appreciated, if you could share some information/ reference papers or documents on how to calculate the delay values for beamsteering a curvilinear array
regards, prasad
Hi,
I want to know the range of pulse repetition frequency that can be supported by LM96570. I mean, how much frequency signal supported at Tx_En pin.
Thank you.

Hi Anton,
I've emailed you the software Maiusz had posted a while back:

Here is the delay calculation software you had asked about which I got from one of the E2E posts a while back, and made by Mariusz who is a “community member” not affiliated with TI. So, beware that this is not something TI has produced or is otherwise promoting.
