AFE5809 Power-up

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE5809

1) Can you report anything about inrush currents (for all power rails - AVDD, AVDD_5V, AVDD_ADC and DVDD) for AFE5809 ? I dont see any data in AFE5809 datasheet.

2) Please specify power-up sequencing requirements (p.29 fig. 64 in AFE5809 datasheet). Does it matter sequencing in group of analog power rails (AVDD, AVDD_5V, AVDD_ADC) ? What is t3 (or considered that AVDD ramp time == DVDD ramp time) ?

  • Anton,

    1) Let me check on in rush currents.

    2)

    From the note on fig.64:

The AVDDx and DVDD power-on sequence does not matter as long as –10ms < t3 < 10ms. Similar considerations apply while shutting down the device.

So t3 is the time between Analog Supply ramp and Digital Supply ramp. Sequencing within each group is not critical. But t3 is referenced from last analog rail to first digital rail.

    Thanks,

    Chuck Smyth

  • 1) Thanks, i will wait for your reply.

    2) Why on fig. 64 t3 defined as the interval between the START of rise AVDD and the START of rise DVDD ? Entry to steady state (~90% of nominal value) for AVDD and DVDD will occur at different times because t1 and t2 may be different.

    Thanks,

    Anto Dos.
