TX-SDK-V2 characteristics

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM96570

Hello,

I'm looking for some datas regarding the TX-SDK-V2.

I don't find in the datasheet any informations about the frequency and amplitude ranges of the board. Would you have them ?

How does the T/R Switch commute ? Is there a minimum amplitude required ?

Thank you for your help and best regards,

Yorick

  • Hi,

We received your questions regarding the TX-SDK-V2 and will get back with you shortly with a response.

    Thanks

  • Hi Yorick,

The max frequency of the TX-SDK-V2 is 15MHz, limiting by the LM96550. The amplitude at the output of the LM96570 is 3.3Vpp, at the output of LM96550 is up to +/-50Vpp (depending VPP and VNN) and at the output of the LM96530 is clamp to +/-0.7Vpp. The T/R switch is use to protect the receiver from the high voltage transmitter by clamping the signals to +/-0.7Vpp. If the input signals of the LM96530 is higher than +/-0.7Vpp, the output will clamp to +/-0.7Vpp. Other wise, the input signals is pass thru the output.

  • Dear Charles,

Thank you very much for your answer.

One point is still unclear to me ; the 15MHz limit (because of the LM96550) means that we cannot acquire frequencies above 15MHZ or that the pulser cannot generate higher frequencies ?

    Thanks again,

    Yorick

  • Hi Yorick,

The LM96570 generate pulses (frequencies) to the LM96550. With the transducer load of 150pF or greater, the LM96550 can response fast enough for frequency greater than 15MHz.
