Hi,

I'm Nicolas from Argentina, I'm working for JotaTec (www.jotatec.com) in a ultrasound project. We are considering TI IC's for the design.

I would like to know how to interface the analog front-end IC (AFE5805) with the DSP (TMS320C6474) that TI recommends for portable ultrasound systems. More precisely, AFE5805 has  8 LVDS outputs while the DSP has 16 GPIO. I been looking slld009 (LVDS application and data handbook) and I found IC's like SN55LVDS32 to reconvert from differential to logic, this IC would connect the 8 LVDS signals to 8 GPIO's, but we are using a lot of pins on the DSP. Is this the correct way to interface those IC's?, what would you recommend me?

Thanks in advance,

Ing. Nicolas Dassieu Blanchet

i am not a expert on the signal convertion. however when i read the datasheet of the LVDS32. looks like it can only handle data rate up to 100M. this could be too low for AFE5805. since the output data rate is over 500Mhz. there may be some other coverters. you may look SLK2511

    hope it coule be better.
