LM98714 - Clamp Signal in Sample/Hold Mode Query

Hi,

We understand from datasheet that SAMPLE and CLAMP signals are internal signals which capture the Pixel Voltage and Reference Voltage levels. CLAMP signal captures the Reference Voltage which can be applied externally.

In Sample Hold Mode, CLPIN signal is enabled during black pixel output from sensor, and when enabled will connect the Black pixel sensor output to VCLP. A CLAMP on this voltage will make the dark output center around VREF.

My Question :

1. CLAMP signal should only be generated when CLPIN is enabled in Sample Hold Mode. Is this true?

2. If CLAMP is enabled during every SAMPLE signal, then the dark reference which is obtained when CLPIN is enabled will be overwritten. Is my understanding right?

Regards,

Mithun

  • Also,

If Black pixel is not available in the sensor, when do we CLAMP the reference VREF voltage. Should this be sampled every time SAMPLE signal is generated?

How do we make this setting on when CLAMP signal should be generated in Sample and Hold Mode?

    Regards,
    Mithun
