TX-SDK-V1: Question about power supply

Part Number: TX-SDK-V1

From the Evaluation Kit Users Guide of TX-SDK-V1 the power up sequence that should be followed is: VSUB, +3.3V, +1.8V, ±5V and finally ±10V and ±50V (power down in reverse order).

I have a question related to that power sequence: that sequence should be strictly followed (1) or is enough to power on first VSUB and the other power sources in arbitrary form (2)? (if sequence (2) were used, in power down we only have to worry that VSUB in last to power down).

I  think that the problem in power up/down is related only to VSUB (I am not sure about that!) and as I am now involved in power supply project (I will not follow the the suggested schematic), for me were easy to implement the sequence (2), than sequence (1).

I appreciate help in this matter.

  • Hello,
I'd follow the power up / power down sequence exactly as shown in the documentation please.

Please also note that the devices in the TX-SDK-V1 kit (LM96530, LM96551, LM96570) are now either Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND) or Life Time Buy (LIFEBUY) status. So, I do not recommend that you incorporate these devices in a new design!

    Regards,

  • Hello Hooman,

    Thank you for your reply!

Can you indicate me any kind of documentation that  explain why the power up/down should be that one that is in the  TX_SDK_V1 User’s Guide?

    Best regards,

    Mário
