Hello -
I have a customer that is using an LM60BIM3 temp sensor on one of their outdoor products. This product is exposed to environmental temps down to -40C. They want to know the following:
1. What accuracy can they expect from this device below the rated -25C temp?
2. Is there a risk of component failure if the device is exposed to temps below -25C?
They are in the process of switching to the LM60CIM3 device (-40C to +125), but have some product in the pipeline at this point and want to better understand their risk.
Thanks!
Mark A.
The device will not be damaged at cold temperatures down to -40C. I assume they are using the LM60B - the accuracy will just degrade by a degree or so when the go below -20.
