Hi
Is it possible to use the TMP102 with a discontinuous clock with varying frequency at up to 240 Khz?
Thanks
Hi Shahar,
Could you provide a little more information or possibly a "mocked-up" (hand-drawn, visio, etc.) version of the communication sequence that you are going to attempt to use?
When you say "discontinuous," How long of a break/discontinuity do you expect between clock-pulses?
The I2C interface is meant to operate with a clock freqency from 1kHz to 400kHz in "Fast Mode" and 1kHz to 3.4MHz in "High-Speed Mode".

Hi Collin
The clock frequency is expected to be changing between 10Khz to 240 Khz. Can I operate it in "Fast Mode"?

Shahar
Hello Shahar,
The I2C inteface on the TMP102 cares only about the clock edges and not the clock frequency. Therefore a varying clock-pulse should work as long as the high or low periods of the clock pulse do not exceed 1ms (SCK = 1kHz). Since you've stated that the minimum frequency is 10kHz, you should not experience issues with this.
Let me know if you do experience issues in your implementation and we'll work through it.
