Hi, I am working on a project trying to integrate the TMP006 into a tablet with camera for IR body temperature measurement. Did anybody do this before? Any input and comments will be well appreciated.
Thanks,

Hello Lawrence,
The TMP006 is well suited for use inside of a tablet as long as the recommended layout is used. Do you plan on mounting the TMP006 in the same aperture as the camera lens? Keep in mind that any lens/cover materials between the TMP006 and its target object must be mostly transparent in the 4-8μm range. See these threads for a discussion on lens materials and the IR response of the TMP006:
As for measuring body temperature, the TMP006 can do this reasonably well depending on the measurement site. The most accurate method for remotely measure core body temperature is to point the TMP006 inside the mouth or ear. Skin temperature can also be measured, but the temperature of the skin can vary and is in general a few degrees cooler than the core body temperature. See the threads below for more discussion on this, including links to useful reference documents.
