For my project I'm working with the TMP175( SOIC 8 package). I would like to test its functionality to ensure that it works before I solder it to the pcb board and program it to work with the microcontroller. Is their any way I can test to see if it is taking correct mesaurements without programming it with the microcontroller.
To test the TMP175's functionality I recommend using an SOIC-8 to DIP adapter board from Sparkfun Electronics.
This will allow you to test the part on a breadboard without soldering to your PCB. You will just have to wire the part to the micro controller on the breadboard. Make sure to get the pin headers for the DIP board as well. Unfortunately there isn't a method to test the part without talking to it with the micro controller.
