TMP108 Conversion Time

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP108

Hi e2e,

I'm working on a low power board that will be powered by capacitors that are to be charged wirelessly. I do not have a lot of time from power on to the point where I will consume all the available power on the board. We are using a TMP108 to read temperature and are discovering that the 27ms conversion time could be a problem. Is there a way to speed this conversion time up at the loss of some accuracy? Or is there perhaps a part that would be better suited to this device?

Thanks,

Don

  • Hello Don,

Thanks for sharing your application concerns with us. Unfortunately, the least amount of time its takes for a Local temp sensor to convert is 27ms. We have also has customers in the past, requesting for faster conversion times due to which we are developing a part that's capable to convert in 16ms. We are planning to release it by the end of this year(with similar Iq characteristics). I can keep you in the loop if you are interested.

    Best Regards,

    Abhi

  • Thanks for the reply. I'd certainly be interested in being kept up to date on this. Do you know if the footprint for the new part will be the same?
