TMP441 Local/Remote Temperature Error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP441, DXP

Hello Team,

I'd like to ask you about Local/Remote Temperature Error.

Our customer measured TMP441 under bellow the circuit structure (Room temperature is 20 C).

However the differences between Local and Remote temperature is around 6 C.

What was the cause of the differences between Local and Remote temperature?

(Also the measured remote temperature was different from calculate remote temperature. "n" is 0.99792.)

Best Regards,

Hidetoshi Matsunami

  • Hi Hidetoshi,

Thanks for using TI E2E Forums. In order to understand the cause of the differences between Local and Remote temperature I would need more information from the customer. An schematic showing the configuration of the TMP441 in the circuit with all the external components can help.

Is the customer following all the recommendations from the application section of the datasheet? i.e transistor connected between DXP and DXN; pull-up resistors in the I2C lines; power supply bypass capacitor.

  • Hello Mayrim,

    Thank you for your reply.

Customer refers to the "Diode-Connected Transistor" section of the datasheet.

I got the following information of the circuit configuration from customer.

Also, no external transistor connected between DXP and DXN however internal transistor is embedded in CPU.

Is it enough information for your support?

  • Hi Hidetoshi,

Can you please ask the customer to provide us with the temperature error plots? Even with n-factor correction they are still getting 6C of error? If so, it is a one particular temperature or this is at start up?

  • Hello Mayrim,

    Thank you for your reply.

I sent the temperature error plots data to your email address because that data is from my customer.

    Best Regards,
