Hi All,

i need some suggestions  regarding the device build for fingerprint biomteric system.

I am trying to build a biometric device which is touch screen enabled, with android OS and want an application to run in the OS which shoots out the data from the device to the remote server database using wi-fi or Lan.

I am finding it difficult to find a proper board for this in TI website and also it should help me to interface 4wire resistive touch screen LCD panel to mount on it very easily. It should have wi-fi, Lan port,USb port, Flash memory of 2gb and power supply point .

Can you suggest me regarding this. It would be a mighty help. I am trying to build this device as a prototype and the start my production thereafter.

Regards,

K.Saravanaa

    Hi Saravanaa,

If you need info on TI's Touch Screen Controllers (TSCs) and the applications, you may find at

    http://focus.ti.com/paramsearch/docs/parametricsearch.tsp?family=analog&familyId=636&uiTemplateId=NODE_STRY_PGE_T

Note where the TSC2020 is a multi-touch TSC device (all others are for single touch functions only).

TI does not manufacture touch screen/panel or LCD, but only the touch screen controllers. To develop an application with touch feature,  you need to get a processor, refer to

    http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/dsp/embedded_processor.page?DCMP=TIHomeTracking&HQS=Other+OT+home_p_processors

A touch system is only one of the processor's peripheral devices, similar to keypad, mouse, audio, video, and such. Many of the functions you mentioned is not a TSC function but the processor's functions.

Please feel free to ask if you need anything further on selecting TI's TSC devices!

    Regards,
    Wendy F.
