TSC2006EVM-PDK USB Driver installation problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSC2006

I am trying to install on Windows XP SP3. I also got the same results installing in Windows XP virtual machine on Windows 7.

Following the instructions in README-INSTALL.txt.  When I get to step 12:

"12. select "Browse ...", find the TSC2006EVM.inf, which is included with the installer, and click on it."

There is no such file on the CD.

I did manage to find a file with that name in C:\Program Files\TSC2006EVMSW\data, but the install wizard says it doesn't contain any data about my device.

At this point, USB driver installation cannot continue, and installation fails.

Can somebody tell me how to install the usb driver?

Thanks.

  • Hi Scott,

Have you installed any other evaluation software for TI touch controllers before on the Windows XP SP3 you tried?  Can you try another Windows XP machine?

    Andy

  • I have not installed any other evaluation software for TI touch controllers.

I'm all out of XP machines. I've tried two - one virtual on Windows 7 and 1 real XP machine. Same result on both. I did notice during installation on the real XP machine that the installer detected a later version of NI-VISA (4.2) on the real XP machine and so wouldn't install the version from the TSC2006EVM disk. Does that matter?

There isn't an installer for Windows 7 that I can find.

  • I uninstalled the NI-VISA 4.2 on the real XP machine. Then I reinstalled the EVM software, including the NI-VISA on the EVM disk. Same result.

Am I using the correct TSC2006EVM.inf file? The one I am using is installed by the installer using the default settings in  C:\Program Files\TSC2006EVMSW\data\TSC2006EVM.inf .

  • Hi Scott,

The EVM software for TSC2006 was released quite a  few years ago and for Windows XP platform only. There is no update for Win 7/8 so far.

One possible cause for your failure is that there is something wrong with the USB interface board. Is it possible for you to get another USB interface board from some TI people and have a try?

I will try to find some software tool that could be used to fix this issue for you.

  • There was an extra document on the CD that I missed. I needed to set one of SW-1, SW-2, or SW-3 to off. I set SW-2 off and the driver installs now.

    Thanks.
