TSC2046 AD value is not linear

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSC2046

Hi,

I use TSC2046 to control the touch screen. There is a  problem.

If  I  measure the AD value of  X axis . I think that the AD value of  the horizontal direction  is linear variation, and the vertical is almost no change. But the fact is that the value of vertical changes a lot. I see the waves  of X+,X-,Y+,Y-   through the oscilloscope. I found the Y+and Y- waves is not horizontal, but oblique. Maybe this effected the AD value. I dont konwn why it is oblique. I send the command 0xD0,0X90 to measure the AD value.

first ,help me to confirm the schemtic, tell me if it have problems.

second , help me to analyse why the wave is oblique.thank you!

  • Hi,

Normally, the waveforms on those analog inputs should be similar to the figures below.

    Here are my suggestions:

    a) Try more touch panels (preferably from different vendors).  I doubt that there might be something wrong with the touch panel you are using now.

    b) If a LCD is attached to the touch panel, shut down the LCD, try again and see whether this issue is gone.

    c) Swap (X+, X-) with (Y+, Y-) and see whether this issue continues to happen.

    d) If you are sure that you have a good touch panel connected but this issue still occurs, I would suggest you contact the local TI sales or FAE.  Someone needs to take a look at your whole system and review the layout with you to find out what is wrong.
