Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSC2013-Q1

Hi all,

My customer uses TSC2013-Q1.
I am asked the following questions from my customer.
So please tell me your comment.

1.If we change resistance setting during touching disply, does this device have the constraint?(a note of caution)

2.Could we reset the device by reset pin during touching display?

Best Regards,
Sho

  • Hello Sho

    1) Regarding the first question, what do you mean about resistance setting? Are you referring to the touch screen?
    2) That shouldn't generate any issue, but you should take into account that if you follow touching display after resetting it TSC2013 would get a new datum.

  • Hi Joes.

    Thank you for your answer.

     1) Regarding the first question, what do you mean about resistance setting? Are you referring to the touch screen?
⇒Sorry, it is mistake register setting, yes during touching screen. does this device have the constraint?(a note of caution)

    I have one more question.
If Host does not read or when there is not host, could only TSC2013 detect to touch screen and to disengage a finger from the screen?
I think it is possible to use PENIRQ output.
    Is it correct?

I would like to get your comment as soon as possible.

    Best Regards,
    Sho

  • Sho,

    1) No, that shouldn't generate any problem like in the reset, you should take into account that if you follow touching the touch screen after changing the register setting, the device would get new data with the new configuration.

Regarding your new question that's right, you can configure PINTDAV pin to work as a PENIRQ output, the pin would indicate detection of the touch on the touch screen.

  • Hi Jose san,

    Thank you for your support.

Regarding your new question that's right, you can configure PINTDAV pin to work as a PENIRQ output, the pin would indicate detection of the touch on the touch screen.
⇒I understood it. In this case, please tell me whiich register should I set and appropriate register value.
I think that it can be realized with the following settings.
    Control Byte1D[6:3] = 1101

    Is my understanding correct?

    Best Regards,
    Sho

  • Sho-san,

If you don't use a host or TSC2013-Q1 controls the conversion, I recommend you to have a look to the "conversion controlled by TSC2013-Q1 and initiated by TSC2013-Q1" section, here you can find further information to perform this configuration. You should also take into account the configuration register.
