TSC2013-Q1 / noise filterf of touch panel

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSC2013-Q1

Hi all.

I have one question about TSC2013-Q1
Please check the file that I attached.

My customer evaluates TSC2013-Q1, but the coordinate is jump during touching.
So my customer would like to add noise filter at X+, X-, Y+, Y-.

So please tell me the recommended resister and capacitor values.

Best Regards,
Sho

  • Hi Sho-san

You could just add capacitors it isn't necessary to add any resistor. However, you should take into account that these capacitors increases screen settling time and requires a longer panel voltage stabilization times, and possibly longer pre-charge and sense time.

Other ways to reduce analog input noise are attention to PCB layout, implementing averaging and filters, and utilizing touch screen panel pressure parameters. You can refer "Reducing Analog Input Noise in Touch Screen Systems" is an application report where you can find further information about reducing input noise.
