TSC2046: Schematics Query related to TSC2046

Part Number: TSC2046

Configuration of Touch Controller IC as below:

Pin 7 (vbat) and pin 8 (aux) is floating as per schematics. Vcc=5V & DCLK,PA6,DIN & DOUT are SPI pins and INT is interrupt pin.

My query is Can I keep Vbat and AUX pin open? Please guide. Thanks.

  • Hello Vaibhav,

The function of the VBAT pin on the TSC2046 is to incorporate the ability to monitor the battery voltage. By leaving this pin floating, the reading from the internal ADC used to measure the battery voltage will need to be ignored. Leaving VBAT float is OK.

The AUX pin will allow for an auxiliary single-ended input to be measured by the TSC2046. Leaving AUX disconnected is not a problem since you can simply ignore the reading from the internal ADC for the AUX input.

Please reach out if you have any follow-up questions.

    Thank you,
    Reed Kaczmarek
