Hello,

Lock up usually refers to the SDA pin being held to a low level and not being released. This can happen if the power on recommendations in section 8.2.2.1.2 and 3 of the datasheet are not followed. Please also see the document sbaa186.pdf on the ti.com website. It is described in more detail in that document.
