TPS7A4501-SP: SHDN Pin Voltage > VIN

Part Number: TPS7A4501-SP

Is there any issue having the /SHDN pin controlled by a voltage greater than the VIN voltage.  For example, with VIN = 5.5V, can /SHDN = 9V (or maybe higher)?

Abs max ratings on data sheet indicate a max voltage of 22V with no reference to VIN voltage.

  • Hey Mark,

An Apps max rating without reference to the Vin in the part means it is independent of the Vin of the part.
The SHDN pin having a voltage greater than Vin should have no issue as long as the ABS MAX is met.

    Thanks,
    Daniel
