BQ34110EVM-796: BQ34110EVM-796 Voltage calibration error

Part Number: BQ34110EVM-796

Hi  ALL:

now I use the BQ34110EVM-796  to calibrate,however during the calibration,the bqstudio report error,and the error detail information is "Calibration - pack voltage correction is beyond allowed range;

I use the NI-MH batterry and the voltage is 10V and the calibration flow is referred to the TRM,now I don't  know how to resolve it.

  • Hi Darren,

    Have you set the Number of Series Cells in the device, set the correct voltage divider value, enabled the VEN pin (to enable the external divider and disable the internal divider), and set the jumpers correctly on the EVM? Please carefully follow the steps in Section 3.2.1 of the EVM User Guide to configure the device before trying the voltage calibration.
    This video may also be very helpful: www.youtube.com/watch
    It is for the bq34z100-G1 device, but the calibration process is similar.

    Best regards,
    Matt

    Hi Matt:
    I set the Number of Series Cells in the device and enabled the VEN pin,and also set the jumpers correctly on the EVM,
    the the correct voltage divider value will be acquired only after voltage calibration,when I set the applied voltage to 10000MV and the bqstudio Prompt error: "Calibration - pack voltage correction is beyond allowed range; I doubt if the BQ34110 is bad
  • In reply to darren:

    when I connnect the BQ34110EVM with EV2400,and the BQ34110 read the voltage is 16MV but actually the battery voltage is 10.45V.I have measured related voaltage on the board . the REG25 is 2.85V and the REGIN is 3.27V . the BAT is 0.54V.the BAT voltage is correct because the battery voltage is 10.45V .but but I can't carry out a voltage calibration correctly.

    Hi Darren,

    Did you follow all of the steps in the EVM User Guide for the setup? What are you setting the Voltage divider to on the Calibration screen? It should be about 19200 based on the divider you are using.

    Matt
