TLV62569A: Using TLV62569A to achieve flybuck solution

Hi, currently my customer have request to achieve below solution:

  1. Vin: 4.5-5.5VDC, typical: 5V
  2. Vout: 4.5-5.25VDC, typical: 5V
  3. Need isolation between input and output
  4. Output power: 1W

I have selected TLV62569A this low cost sync Buck convert for Flybuck isolated solution, just similar to PMP6828 this TI design.

Could you pls help give some comments on this feasibility, and to see if any other better device recommendation.

    Could you please provide me the link of reference design PMP6828 as I could not find it on TI design page. TLV devices are not design for isolation. According to your requirements I would suggest you to refer PMP6813 reference design.

    Could you please help me understand why TLV62569A can't achieve flybuck just like TPS55010? Actually PMP6828 is similar design with PMP6813

    Hi Leo,

    I would not recommended to use TLV62569A device as Fly-buck topology because it will enter in power saving mode in light load and device is not designed and tested for this application. TPS55010 device is good option for required application. I would like to know why you want to use TLV62569A instead of TPS55010?

    Hi Tanvee,

    TLV62569A is relativily lower cost and it's more easy for us to compete with NCP1595C, the A version have force PWM feature, which ensure the CCM mode accross whole load range.
    Please correct me if some wrong.

    Hi Leo,

    You can use this device with uncertain risk because the device is not tested for specific application and parasitic may cause damage. I don't recommended TLV62569A for Fly-buck isolated solution.
