Part Number: BQ76940

BQ76930

Hello,

Understand that BQ76940 can support up to 20S battery cell. Please advise if this part is stack-able to support 30S battery cell?

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

    Hello,

Understand that BQ76940 can support up to 15S battery cell. Please advise if this part is stack-able to support 30S battery cell?

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks

    Hi Gurauraj,
You can certainly stack 2 BQ76940 monitors for a 30s battery. You can follow the TIDesign TIDA-01093 , based on BQ76930 (the 10s monitor from the same family of monitors as BQ76940), to help you in your design.

    Best regards,
    David

    Hello David,

Do you provide sample code for "Industrial Battery Management Module for 20S Applications Reference DesignTIDA-01093 "?

    Hi David,

    I would like build a 96V Li-ion battery using 30s configuration.

In such a configuration, When the battery pack is fully charged the pack voltage will be 109.5V

I would like to make ckt similar to TIDA-01093 with bq76940

Will device bq76940 work at 109.5 volts?

  • In reply to Ansul Tyagi:

    Hi Ansul,

For 30s configuration 2 BQ76940s would need to be stacked similar to TIDA-01093.  The BQ76940 has an abs max limit of 36V per 5 cell group, see the data sheet.  In a 30s configuration each BQ76940 would have only 15 cells attached with a voltage less than 109.5V.
