    Hi Saravanan,

I assume 12V is the input source? What is the battery capacity and/or charging current?

    Regards,

    Jeff

Also, do you have host I2C control or do you need resistor only configurable charger?  Our newest family is the BQ25600 family.  The B25606 is the non-I2C version.

    Saravanan,

If you have a > 12V input source, I recommend the standalone BQ24610 controller with external FETs or BQ24171/2 with internal FETs.  Both are standalone.

If your source could drop below 12V, then I recommend BQ25713 which requires host control through I2C.

    Jeff

    Dear Jeff,

Thanks. We have exactly 12V input source so  BQ24610 is OK?

    Hi Saravanan,

The BQ24610 is a buck only charger and needs some headroom (~0.5V) above the final battery regulation voltage for fast charging.  If your input source is not higher than your battery then you must use a boosting or buck and boosting charger like BQ25713.

    Jeff
