# maximum Iq of TPS7B63-Q1

I have a question about TPS7B63-Q1.

Please tell us the maximum Iq under the following conditions.

Vin=14V

Vout=3.3V

Iout=20mA

• Hi Takahiro-san,

The max Iq for those conditions would fall under the 3rd line of the Iq specification it is circled below. This maximum may be higher than what you see in your system as it covers up to 100mA of load current. You can estimate the maximum using Figure 1.

• Hi Takahiro,

From the Electrical Characteristics (EC) table, max Iq for Iout < 100 mA is 98 uA. and max Iq for Iout < 1 mA is 42 uA.

If we extrapolate linearly, I would estimate max Iq for Iout = 20 mA at about 52 uA.

I will check to see if we have test data at Iout = 20 mA

Our competitor is RICOH R5112.
Maximun Iq of R5112 is 9.8μA(Iout=0mA)
We need to explain that Iq of TPS7B63-Q1 is lower than R5112.

I have another questions.

Question 1.
Please tell us the test condition and the test limit about Input quiescent current in datasheet p.6
when Vin is 14~40V.

Question 2.
About Figure .1 in datasheet p.8,
do you have evaluation data when Vin is 14V and Ta is 25℃ and 125℃?

Hi Takahiro-san,

The RICOH R5112 datasheet specifies max Iq of 9.8 uA with Iout = 0 mA.
The closest spec in the TPS7B63-Q1 datasheet is Iq with watchdog disabled and Iout < 1 mA: 29.6 uA max.

Please note the TPS7B63-Q1 has a watchdog function, while the R5112 does not have watchdog.

Q1) Test Condition: 4 V, 14 V, 40 V, no watchdog, Iout = 0.2 mA.
Test limit is 29.6 uA

Q2) 14 V, Iout = 0.2 mA, Iq max @
25°C = 20.0735 mA
125°C = 22.3631 mA
