TPS630250: TPS630250 / Maximum output current

Part Number: TPS630250

Hi,

Please let me ask about maximum output current. I know that the maximum output current depend on input and output voltage, but I'm asking it because the maximum output current of efficiency curve in datasheet is 2A. The actual requirement of the customer is 2.3A output current at 2.5V output from Li-Ion battery (3.0V to 4.2V). I could get result without no error from Webench as attached.

  • HI Santoshi-san,

I could find measurements in our database for this device for the maximum output current for Vout=2.5V.
the measurements show that the device can deliver 2.3A for your operating conditions: Vin=3.0V to 4.2V and Vout=2.5V.

As mentioned in the other post (e2e.ti.com/.../2549698,
I believe a buck converter would be more suitable for this application, for example the TPS62823 : www.ti.com/.../tps62823.pdf

    _______________________________________________________________________________________

    TPS62825/6/7 – New High-density buck in 1.5x1.5QFN package! Also available in 2x1.5QFN, like TPS62823.

    5.5Vin, 2-3A buck with 4uA Iq and 1% accuracy. 4A sampling now!
