BQ25895: Battery charger's PMID behaviour

Part Number: BQ25895

Hi,

We are using the BQ25895 charger in our design. 5V generated using PMID is used for the OTG functionality.
The current on PMID is limited to 1A using external load switch from NXP (NX5P3290UKZ).

We have observed below mentioned issues on the Board.

1) The impedance on PMID pin reduces to <2K after the power ON of the Board( Before power ON, impedance on PMID pin was >10M).

2) ILIM pin of load switch (NX5P3290UKZ) shows Zero Ohm impedance/short to ground.

Assuming load switch has been damaged. We remounted the new load switch IC. But, after powering ON we found same observation as above.

We have enquired about this issue with NXP. They have informed as that this part was used by multiple customer across the globe with same design architecture. None of the customer had raised a similar concern.

Therefore we request to check is this due to PMID of BQ IC.

We also want to know whether TI has any external load switch for Its BQ ICs which doesn't have internal current limit feature.

 Thanks & Regards,

Kiran
