  • Hi Onyx,

Thanks for the reply.  The customers biggest concerns are ability to program the part and time it takes for the operation.  They manufacture tens of thousands of devices and programming time becomes an issue. They employ manufacturing software, which calls the appropriate data file and automatically generates serial number and date code.

The only method of programming BQ2022A we were able to find is using "bq Evaluation Software" (version 1.0.2) in conjunction with TI EV 2300 HPA002 programmer. The software bares a name "Evaluation", which seems to imply that it is met for evaluating BQ2022A (and other) chips. It only works with Windows XP and it is not clear whether its license will expire after certain evaluation period.

Should the customer move to the EV2400?
Is there any way to automate the process for Production?
What about third party options (I checked DataIO and BP Micro but BQ2202A was not supported)?

    Regards,
    Mark

  • Hi Mark,
Let me look into what options are available for mass production as at first glance i don't see anything. Doesn't look like bqmtester or bqproduction supports this. The customer might have to build their own set up with multiple ev2400. If i find out anything i will get back to you. i will let you know by Friday whatever results i find out.

    thaks
    Onyx
  • Hi Onyx,

Did you find any other options for BQ2022A device programming?

I checked with our team, unfortunately there are none.
