Part Number: TPS23880
How to update TPS23880 firmware and how to detect what firmware version I am currently running?
How to update firmware:
Download the latest TPS23880 firmware by navigating to the TPS23880 Product Folder Page on TI.com and clicking the "Product advisory and latest firmware download are available. Request Now" link as shown highlighted below.
Next, please fill out the export approval information and submit your request. Please allow approximately 1-2+ business days for processing. Upon processing and approval, download instructions will be sent via e-mail. Look for a message from mySecureSoftware@ti.com and then download the latest firmware. Once you have a copy of the latest firmware, please follow the instructions as outlined in the How to Load TPS23880 SRAM and Parity Code over I2C application note to load the latest firmware. Alternatively, instructions are available for updating the firmware using the GUI as shown in the TPS23880 Training: Loading SRAM video.
How to verify what version of the firmware you are currently running:
Firmware version that’s successfully loaded into device:
You may check the firmware version by following the instructions in the How to Load TPS23880 SRAM and Parity Code over I2C application note. Also, as outlined in the TPS23880 User's Guide, you may also read TPS23880 registers using the GUI in order to verify which version of firmware is currently being loaded.
Firmware version that customer is downloading:
In addition, you may also check the firmware version by opening the SRAM source file being used since the Header on the top of the source file will provide a statement about which version of firmware is being used.
Special Note: At Release to Market date of 10/4/18, FW rev 0x01 is the most up-to-date version available. Should future releases be made available, users will be proactively contacted through email and can update firmware via the above methodology.
We are glad that we were able to resolve this issue, and will now proceed to close this thread.
