HI All,

I am novice to Battery Management . In one of our project, 7.4V/4400mAH ( 2S2P) battery is used. I am looking for a suitable charger chipset. Most of the chipsets are rated for 4.2V as charging voltage. Could not find suitable chip set which suites for my application. Can anyone suggest suitable part for my application. Thanks.

Hi,

What is your input power (voltage and current) for the battery charger? What is your desired charge current?

Dear Jeff,
The input is 12VDC/1A. The charge current is 500mA. Please do suggest suitable part. Thanks.

I suggest bq24133 switching charger for best efficiency. If your application can dissipate the heat in the pass element, the bq2057W is a linear charger.

Thanks Jeff. We decided to go with BQ24133. is there any suggestion of charger IC ( similar capability of bq24133) with serial communication like I2c/SM bus...?
