TPS62561: TPS62560 PFM for 5pin

Part Number: TPS62561

TPS62560 comes in a both 6pin and a 5 pin package.  The 6 pin has a MODE pin which selects forced PWM mode or auto select PFM for light loads.

The 5 pin package does not have a MODE pin.  I cannot find anywhere in the data sheet where it says whether the 5 pin package is always PWM or auto selects PFM.

Have i missed it or can you please tell me how it works ?

thank you

  • Hello Dennis,

It's my pleasure to support you. The first page of the datasheet states:

The 5pin device works only in fixed PWM as stated at section 5 "Device Comparison Table", page 4 of the datasheet.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Emmanuel
