TPS55340: IC burnout; pin 1 and pin 2 short to GND

Part Number: TPS55340

Hello,

Burn is on IC and the diode D109.

The inductor has max current of 11.2A , while Diode has max curr 15A, max voltage 45 V.

Any possible scenario? over voltage?

is there problem with schematic?

Hi Terry,

What is the power on sequence? make sure add the power Vin first, then enable the IC. It shouldn't be damaged by over voltage since the margin is enough.

customer power Vin then enable IC.

How about enable load before enable IC? Will it damage the IC TPS55340PWPR?

Do you mean the margin of Diode vs the DRQ127?
Or overall our design margin is enough and will not cause over-voltage?

Hi Terry，

For the TPS55340, it can enable the load before enable the IC.

What is the Vin rise up slew rate (dv/dt)? And could u please share the sch and pcb layout to us? I want to check whether it is a layout issue.
