Hi,

How do I calculate at what load the TPS61085 will start to use pulse skipping mode?

Also, is there any information on the peak to peak voltage output ripple as a result of the pulse skip mode?

Hi Pjs,
When the boost operates from CCM to DCM, boost starts enter into pulse skipping mode.
It is hard to calculate output ripple at PFM, it is related to internal circuit delay and output cap and working condition. Testing in the EVM is a good idea.

Do you know if Webench will also model pulse skipping mode at low loads?

Hi Pjs,
It is a good idea to test in the EVM.
I am not sure. Because it is a old device, you can have a try in the Webench.
