UCC28951-Q1: UCC28951-Q1

Part Number: UCC28951-Q1

Hello sir

I have attached the power circuit of dc dc converterpower circuit .pdf

In the primary side , I have used the MOSFETs (QA,QB,QC,QD) of mouser part number C3M0065100K where it has four pins. My doubt is whether I have to short the gate source pin of MOSFET to the power source pin of QA MOSFET and as I have drawn in the power circuit pdf. Please correct me if any changes required.

Thanks and regards

  • Hello Rajashekar

The C3M0065100K device provides two source pins. One is a power source pin where the majority of the current exits the device. The other source pin is a gate driver pin and is intended to take the gate drive currents. The main reason for doing this is to provide a way for you to eliminate the problem of voltages developed in source lead inductances from degrading the quality of the gate drive. Exactly how it should be used, and most importantly, what are the effects of shorting these two pins together is something that you will have to ask of the device manufacturer - I'm sorry but I cannot give you a definitive answer here.
