TPS2549-Q1: EN pin is same as HW Reset?

Hi team,

As for EN pin of TPS2549-Q1, does it provide the same functionality as HW reset when the device is in an abnormal state?

If not, can you explain the difference between EN control and HW Reset of power on/off?

Hi, Sam,

You can connect EN to Fault pin to disable the part when device is in an abnormal state. Then you can use MCU to enable it.

Hi Bob,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, it'll be a good usecase if the fault pin is used with the EN control when the device met any fault.

However, my customer question is that EN pin is whether to do the same role of HW Reset. If it's not same as HW reset, what is the difference from HW reset?

Hi Bob,

I understand that HW(Hardware) reset is same as Power on reset. Because TPS2549 doesn't have HW reset pin, I'm asking if EN pin has the role of HW reset.
