Part Number: TPS2373

Hi,

I want to select a PD chip, my requirement: 50w, support 802.3.

    TPS2373 is ok?

Thanks.

  • user4215035,

We have 2 options for you: the TPS2372 and TPS2373. You can watch the following video to learn more about the differences between the products --> training.ti.com/introduction-tis-full-ieee-8023bt-portfolio .

Additionally, if only needing 50W, select the -3 variant (TPS2372-3 or TPS2373-3) in order to avoid over design and save some money. The -3s integrate a FET that will only support Type 3 operation whereas the -4s integrate FETs which extend coverage up to Type 4 (71W) operation.

Let us know if having any additional follow-up questions once you have watched the video. Also be aware that we have an IEEE802.3bt training portal loaded with white papers and instructional videos here --> training.ti.com/power-over-ethernet-getting-started-new-standard .

Thank you for considering PoE products from Texas Instruments,
