Can I use 24V PoE in my PD application?

  • 24V PoE is considered a non-standard application. However, the TPS23754 using the PPD functionality does allow for 24V PoE. PPD overrides the PoE PD's UVLO and enables the internal pass FET. The design consideration is that the power is limited by the 850mA current limit such that only approximately 24V*850mA = 20W max is available. For more information regarding this functionality, please refer to the TPS23754 datasheet.
