It seems as though there will be a variable input voltage for this application. Can you please confirm what the range is for this as well as the expected output current? Do you need a device to just power the CC3220 or will this be used to power something else as well?
I would like to recommend you use a buck/boost in front of an LDO regulator. Some devices that I can recommend for the LDO would be: TLV767, or TPS7A26, TPS709 if low ground current is needed.
