TPS25944A: Overcurrent behaviour of TPS25944A

Part Number: TPS25944A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25942A

Hello

I'm using the TPS25944A as a power management device. I specifically chose the version TPS25944A to use the overcurrent shutdown mode. In the datasheet the following statement is noted:

" The TPS25942 limits current to the programmed I(LIM) level. TPS25944 does not limit current but runs the fault timer when I(LOAD) > I(LIM)." (SLVSCE9D –JUNE 2014–REVISED OCTOBER 2017, page 8, note (3))

In my application, I set I(LIM) to 1.1A. When I reduce the load resistance (potentiometer) to create overcurrent,  the load-current will be limited to I(LIM) and the device does not shut off after 4ms.

Is there a further configuration to be done to use the overcurrent shutdown mode of this device?

Thanks in advance!

Adrian
