[FAQ] BQ51020: Qi Charger Receiver Reference Design Parts

Part Number: BQ51020

Hello,

I am trying to quickly implement the BQ51020 into my reference design but am finding it difficult given the age of this part and the reference design/evaluation module (BQ51020EVM-520.

Some of the parts are extinct without replacements;

MOSFET P-Type - TI CSD75301W1015 : Extinct

RX Coil - Vishay P/N IWAS4832FFEB9R7J50 : Extinct

Is this a sign that 5 years after this product's release that it will also become extinct and I should find another  part to use?

Is there an updated reference design or parts that you could recommend for the above items?

I want to stick with TI components as I have done for a lot of other components in the design. We are starting our manufacturing run next month, if we can't find what we need with TI we will have to reluctantly go elsewhere with newer products.

Thank you for your help.

  • Hello

    Some of the parts are extinct without replacements;

    -CSD75301W1015 : Extinct  ---- Bill J -- Replacement part CSD75208E1015 --- Also any number of P CH mosfets will work in this application, keep the RDS on low.

    -IWAS4832FFEB9R7J50 : Extinct --- Bill J -- This is the RX coil, replacement TDK WR483245-15F5-G.  Also a number of coil are on the market that will meet this requirement.  For larger coils 48mm X 32mm 13uH is good.  If size is reduced increase this coil L for good performance.

    Is this a sign that 5 years after this product's release that it will also become extinct and I should find another  part to use? -- Bill J -- No plans to NRND or EOL the part.

    Is there an updated reference design or parts that you could recommend for the above items? --- Bill J -- We have some additional TI reference designs but they are targeted a lower power.
